Marie Kondo is a world famous bestseller author and belongs to the 100 most influential persons in the world.
Her books have been translated into 26 languages and sold more than 7 Million copies. She also launched her highly successful series in NETFLIX.
The key principles of her famous “KonMari” organizing methodology are:
- Discarding by category (clothes, books, paper etc) not by location.
- Break a category into subcategories as necessary .
- Keep only those things that spark joy (pick up one by one and decide).
- After you have finished discarding, organize your space thoroughly and completely (store all items of the same type in the same place).
- Do it all in one go (tidy up in one shot, rather than little by little).

Progressively we lose interest in the maintenance of our own Home and give up. Clutter accumulates and tidying everything becomes something which seems impossible to do.
When we return from a long day, we want to relax in a place free of visual contamination, so that our mind can clear up.

THE TYDING FESTIVAL PROCESS consists in the act of confronting yourself and dealing with objects and their placement which is much harder to do. However, the end result is much more gratifying.
Maintaining is key and if the “end result” is properly kept, organizing will not be as demanding as cleaning.
When working with The Organised Home, you will receive guidance on how to organize and decorate your spaces, as I am both a certified Marie Kondo consultant and interior designer.
The key to success is to complete the process in one go, in a RAPID, COMPLETE and EFFICIENT way. It’s is a big effort required from yourself, but I promise you it will be worth it. You will just live with objects that you love.
The process
My way of working is based on the worldwide known KonMari Method®. Its efficiency has been proven with thousands of clients around the world. It is complemented by deep knowledge of interior design to not only make your home clutter free but also beautiful.
We follow these simple steps:

A starting interview to get to know each other, understand your objectives, explain the methodology and structure the upcoming weeks. This connects can happen face to face or virtually. It lasts around 60 min in which we also make a quick tour of your home

You then send pictures and videos of the areas you want to focus on

We will further appointments to work together (can be both physical or virtual). These appointments should be at least 2 hours per session

The first hour of our first meeting will be free of charge. Afterwards the following fees apply per hour:

We will work by category, not by space and I will support and guide you how to choose what “sparks joy” and what to let go. Later we will go through how you can best store the different categories, using the right systems to help you maintain your home free of clutter

Multiple studies have shown that staged homes stay on the market only half the time compared to unstaged homes. Also, a staged home achieves 3-10% higher selling prices compared to the same home which is not staged.
Home Staging makes use of human psychology as 80% of the purchase decision for buying a home is emotional and often linked to a home looking spacious, luminous and beautiful when being visited. It is often the first impression that counts. High-quality home staging also appeals to buyers because it helps them envision the property as their home.
The concept of home staging was developed during the US housing crisis when lots of properties were on the market and it was essential to “look better than the rest”.

We come to your property and in 1 or 2 hours, we explain you how to prepare your property for a future potential buyer (buying or renting). We can also prepare a full report explaining all details.

FULL HOMESTAGING PROJECT
After visiting your property and evaluating your needs, we will prepare a full report with the actions to take (small renovation, special cleaning, painting etc). If desired, we will also propose a list of items to decorate your home based on your budget.

DESIGN SELLING BROCHURE
We can design a convincing and beautiful Selling Brochure with pictures of your property.
If desired, we can help you with the visits from potential buyers or tenants.

My name is Maria Ammann and I am the founder of “The organised Home”, a Swiss company based in Geneva and specialised in helping and consulting clients to get their homes perfectly “Organised” and as well to help clients with HomeStaging or Interior Design Projects.
I am an official consultant of the world famous “KonMari” methodology which was successfully featured on Netflix.
I have also studied Interior Design at the University Complutense in Madrid and am officially certified for Home Staging.
The combination of these three areas of expertise allows “The Organised Home” to not only offer you unique insights into how to best organice your home, but also to guide you with beautiful decoration.
I was born in Madrid and lived for several years in London, Vienna, Panama and Geneva.
